Conference venue & accomodation

The conference will take place in the Bernoulliborg, located at the Zernike Science Campus of the University of Groningen. The Bernoulliborg is just opposite the Centre for Life Sciences, where Theoretical Biology is based.

The conference dinner will be in the Chinese Garden of the Hortus Botanicus in Haren. Transportation by bus will be provided.

All conference-related venues are indicated by green markers on the map. The blue markers indicate relevant transportation locations, such as the main railway & bus station of Groningen, and the bus stops at the conference venues.

Accomodation is available all over the city of Groningen, at a wide range of prices. The red markers on the map indicate hotels, the yellow markers indicate some of the larger (> 4 rooms) B&B's and hostels.

Travel information

Groningen can be reached through the international airport Schiphol, near Amsterdam. From the airport there is a direct train connection to Groningen 19 minutes past each hour, and a complementary connection with one change in Amersfoort 49 minutes past the hour. For last-minute info, check the journey planner of the Dutch railway company.

Alternatively, you may travel via the city airport Bremen, Germany. Bremen airport has a good connection to Groningen by coach, or you can travel by train; check the journey planners of German Rail or Dutch International Rail Travel for details. 

Within the city of Groningen you can travel by bus, or alternatively, hire a bike. The railway station bicycle storage facility also runs a rent-a-bikes service.
